A man from South Africa left mourners in fear as he went ‘beserk’ at his step grand dad’s funeral wake in Bulawayo Northend Surburb. The man Shadreck Matose (41) who is said to have last come to Zimbabwe in 2014, broke open the old man Letso Warasi (68’s) coffin and demanded to inspect the deceased’s toe nails.

Letso Warasi collapsed and died on Friday and was buried yesterday at West Park cemetery in Bulawayo. Shadreck Matose allegedly grabbed a large kitchen knife and shredded a mattress in search of money claiming the old man had been contributing towards insurance for thirty years therefore there must be a large sum of cash, locked himself in a room with the corpse and cut up the face.

Shadreck reportedly stopped his grandmum from going to the toilet and demanded that she should pee in his presence so that he could see the colour of her urine. He even reportedly fondled her breasts in search of hidden cash. He was eventually subdued by police who arrested him and locked him away but he was allowed to attend the funeral although many people were afraid as he was injured and swollen from punching walls and assaulting mourners previously.
